PALE LANE ELVETHAM SEPT 4 REPORT


 With Tony laid low suffering from Diverticulitis, the SMX  team are putting on excellent meetings.


 James Sadie Katie and Tanya are managing the various areas they control, with the marshals caterers first aiders all doing an excellent job. Thanks


 Gary Archer missed a few meetings early on but is making up for lost time now. He led the Dave Kent Over 40s scratch race from start to finish. Lee Wilson was a distant second. Graham Tills likewise in third. Gary Archer as the oldest  in the age handicap was first away and first home. With Graham Tills getting by Lee Wilson mid race to take second this time. Steve Davies was first to show in the ability handicap , but he was quickly passed by championship leader Anthony Ford. With the flag in sight Gary Archer shot by Anthony to win. Closing up fast was Graham Tills in third.


 Mark Russell continues to be the Over 40s Evo (pre 95)s star. He took the scratch race from Rob Hussey and Tim Palmer. He beat Rob again in the age handicap after passing early leader Simon Doughty. Richard Goodridge was third this time. Richard Goodridge led the ability handicap for two laps  before Rob took over for a lap, then Mark charged through to win. With Rob again second and Richard goodridge clung on for third.


 Peter Archer takes some stopping if his bikes stay together. He dashed off ahead of Alan Scott in the Hambridge Homes over 50s scratch race and there he stayed. Paul Smith worked up to third after a slow start. Mark Jordan had two laps as the top dog, before Peter swanned through to win. Alan Scott grabbed second from Mark on the last lap. Neil Handley was first away in the ability handicap holding on until the penultimate lap when Bryan Mcdonagh took over to win. Alan Scott took second on the last lap again, but Neil held off the fast finishing Peter Archer for third.


 Ian Williams took all three Tammy Over sixties from Brendon Kirby and Barry Williams.


 Ricky Carter took the first leg of a hotly disputed A group from Josh Scott and Sam Gabriel. Sam Gabriel then showed everyone else the way home in the second leg, With Steve Elford besting Ricky Carter for second. Last time out Sam again took the win with Ricky Carter second and Josh Scott third.
