Report Elvetham Sept 6
I have to apologise for the delays that caused us to run over an hour late last Sunday.
Leigh Williams accident held things up for quite a while. You canít rush these things. Fortunately he is back at work, Some what battered and bemused. He has ligament damage to the shoulder area as well as being battered and bruised elsewhere, not surprising considering how hard he hit the ground. Our Ambulance men as usual did a good job, likewise the County Ambulance personnel
The second holdup was because there is an electric cable being laid in a pipe, beside the river,. The workmen had removed our, 50 ft long 9 inch wide, extractaction pipe from the water. Replacing it through two fences and moving it 30 feet forward, was a major task due to its length and weight. Causing a long delay while discussions and actual replacement took place .The next door landowner whose land we cross was as usual very helpful Half the track was quickly watered and conditions remained excellent all day.
Thank you to all the riders for your patience .I am sorry we finished an hour later than we expected. We know they are going to be there now so can arrange things in advance if necessary.
